A MTV anunciou a lista de indicados ao MTV Video Music Awards 2022, cujos vencedores serão anunciados em um evento de premiação ao vivo que será realizado no dia 28 de agosto de 2022 (domingo), no Prudential Center em New Jersey.
A lista de indicados tem como principais destaques Lil Nas X, que recebeu diversas indicações em categorias importantes, como Vídeo do Ano e Artista do Ano. Ele empata em número de menções com Jack Harlow (que colaborou com ele no vídeo de Industry Baby) e Kendrick Lamar.
Também chama a atenção as poucas indicações para Adele no VMA 2022. A cantora recebeu apenas duas menções em Canção do Ano por Easy on Me e Melhor Direção de Arte por Oh My God.
Para os brasileiros, o MTV Video Music Awards 2022 será especial. A cantora Anitta foi indicada na categoria Melhor Artista Latino, pelo vídeo de Envolver. Algo já esperado, pois a canção quebrou recordes no Spotify e colocou de vez a cantora no mercado norte-americano.
